KEYNOTE: Mayim Bialik on Green Living

Mayim Bialik was known by many as a role model for teens in the 1990s as the lead in the hit NBC sitcom "Blossom". She is now a role model for individuals that are dedicated to a green lifestyle. Mayim will tell you her story and talk about what led her to commit to a lifestyle that includes veganism, natural health care and green parenting. Mayim will also discuss the ways celebrity has affected her choices, including being the celebrity spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network, where she helps inspire parents to live and parent green.


Mayim Bialik, Hollywood Actress and Spokesperson for Holistic Moms Network

Mayim Hoya Bialik is best known for her lead role in the 1990s NBC sitcom Blossom, as well as for her portrayal of the young Bette Midler in "Beaches." She has also appeared in Woody Allen's "Don't Drink the Water" and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Bialik received a Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2007 from UCLA, specializing in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in adolescents with Prader-Willi syndrome. She is the celebrity spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network, a national non-profit organization dedicating to supporting holistic and green parenting and living.

Bialik gave birth to a son in 2005, and a second son (born at home, largely unassisted) in 2008. She is the co-founder and chair of youth branch of the Jewish Free Loan Association, and is devoted to a lifestyle of attachment parenting, homeschooling, natural family living, vegan cooking, and making her own shampoo and cleaning supplies.

Recent appearances include recurring roles on "Secret Life of the American Teenager" and FOX's "Til Death." She recently portrayed 1960's activist Nancy Kurshan in "Chicago 8," to be released this year.
